The Parrott House
About This Spot
Stepping into The Parrott House, you’re welcomed by a harmony of historic charm and thoughtful modern touches that invite a slower, more attentive kind of dining experience. Nestled in Roseburg’s heart, this spot strikes a balance between the warmth of a classic American tavern and the considered elegance of a fine dining venue. The atmosphere flows gently here—full of easy conversations, the subtle clink of glassware, and the kind of ambient glow that encourages lingering over good company and well-crafted food.
The pace is measured and unhurried, perfect for those who want to savor the moment and the meal. Whether you find yourself at the bar sampling one of their deftly mixed cocktails—imagine a lavender-infused Lemon Drop or a smoky bourbon concoction—or settled into the cozy lounge, there’s a nuanced rhythm to the room that feels both familiar and a touch refined. Evening light filters softly through the windows, highlighting the rich wood tones and thoughtfully restored details that echo the building’s storied past.
When it comes to the food, The Parrott House feels like a place where each dish is a quiet celebration of local ingredients and good technique. It’s not about flashy presentation but more about friendly, honest fare designed to comfort and surprise. From the earthy depth of a foraged mushroom appetizer to the satisfying heft of a carefully cooked ribeye, the menu invites exploration while keeping a grounded sense of place. The thoughtful pairing of items—whether a vibrant field green salad or a velvety lobster tail—creates a balanced dining experience made to be shared or enjoyed solo in reflective company.
What makes this place linger in memory isn’t just the food or drinks but the moments in between—the attentive, personable service that seems genuinely invested in your experience, and the natural flow of conversations that fill the space without overwhelming it. It’s a spot that encourages you to slow down, take a breath, and let your senses settle into the joy of discovery. For those who visit, The Parrott House becomes that rare kind of venue where history, hospitality, and honest flavors come together seamlessly.

My friend and I had dinner at The Parrott House last night and it was superb. We ordered the smoked pork chop and chicken marsala. Both were delicious. We wanted to try everything on the menu, which apparently is new, as well as the chef who creates it all. Our server was attentive, personable, and friendly. I was told this beautiful establishment is under new management and there have been some changes, based off of customer reviews and I will say this is a place you should revisit if you were disappointed in the past.

This is the first review I have ever done - the place was that good! We have gone to a few upper class restaurants and steak houses in our life but our visit to the Parrott House was right up there with the very best. They know how to cook a steak and fish to perfection. The berry cobbler was to die for. My water glass was never empty. We don't say this about a lot of restaurants but anytime we are in Rosenberg, we are going to definitely stop in at the Parrott House!

My wife and i came for my 60th birthday dinner she had the bowtie pasta and i had the spicy burger....both were delicious and pasta portion was generous....long story longer we noticed they had surf and turf lobster and steak by reservation only on thursday which was the next day. We enjoyed our meal so much we made a reservation for the next evening and it did not disappoint! On our way out we met the owner told her we enjoyed our dinner and that we were celebrating my birthday and that we were coming back the next day she encouraged me to ask for complimentary birthday desert very nice lady. And the servers were awesome !The next day The lobster was cooked to perfection steak had a great char on it and the sides were wonderful. We will definetly be back .....looking forward to the bourbon bar which opens today!

Beautiful historic location, wonderfully renovated and a great place for dinner. I presume. If it wasn't for the very slow service and the noise of the dirt track. I would have given a higher rating. The food was very good, albeit slightly spendy. Our service was slower than normal. But, I will be back when there isn't a dirt track race happening to see if there's is a difference
